About

My name is Nicole and my passion is cake design.

I work from my very own cake studio at my home in Sidbury, Devon, where I live with my husband and two children. With its rolling hills and plunging cliffs, the South West of England is dotted with exclusive wedding venues, which continue to recommend me as a supplier. These include The Deer Park, Rockbeare Manor, Brickhouse Vineyard, Upton BarnSidmouth Harbour Hotel, Huntsham Court, The Great Barn and many more.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

It has been a long and exciting journey getting to this point in my career. I worked as a Pastry Chef for 15 years and, during that time, began experimenting with sugar paste, model figures and flowers. I loved it, as did my friend and boss at the time, Rachel. Together we embarked on some part-time wedding cake making and so loved the joy we brought to couples’ special days that we decided to make a go of it professionally and Sweet Satisfaction was born in 2009.

Both Rachel and I had babies at the same time in 2011 but continued to pursue our passion for creating beautiful cakes together from our homes – our family lives along with our cake business blossomed.

AWARD-WINNING

Over the following years we continued to build our business and, in 2018, we were thrilled as Sweet Satisfaction won its first 'Cake Supplier of the Year' award at the South West Wedding Awards (SWWA). It was such an honour and we were absolutely thrilled! Rachel and I kept up the hard work and, incredibly, managed to win the same award the following year in 2019.

Then, even more amazingly, I am delighted to share that, in 2020, Sweet Satisfaction won again at the SWWA for the third year in a row! This meant a huge amount to me personally as it was the first award I had earned entirely on my own as the sole owner of the business and I believe it is because I truly love the work I do.

ABOUT RACHEL

In June of 2018 Rachel was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer and began a tremendous personal battle. She continued to work alongside me between her treatments and was over the moon with our success at the South West Wedding Awards. However, very sadly in July of 2019, Rachel lost her battle with cancer and she passed away. I continue to run the business in her honour, striving to uphold the creativity and quality she brought to everything she did.

MY MOTIVATION

It is my great passion to continue Rachel's legacy and bring delight to couples' special days. The feedback I receive from happy clients, as well as the friends I make along the way, make the enormous effort I put into every cake completely worth it.
